Located near Gunnison National Park on Highway 50, about an hour drive southeast of Grand Junction, you will find the Town of Montrose. Established in 1882 to provide supplies to nearby mining communities, Montrose gained its name from the character in Sir Walter Scott's novel, The Legend of Montrose.
